The combination of Evolved Gas Analysis (EGA) and Thermal Analysis delivers extremely valuable information for material characterization in research, development, production and quality assurance for ceramics, metals, polymers, pharmaceuticals, etc. |
| |
| In addition to the detection of mass changes and heat flux values, the evolved gases can be identified and quantified simultaneously during one measurement. |
| |
| Now, NETZSCH offers a new cost-effective alternative to the high-performance Skimmer coupling system with its excellent detection sensitivity for large molecules, fragments and metal vapors. |

STA-QMS measurement on Dicyclopentadiene |
| |
| The sample (3.3 mg) was measured in He atmosphere with a heating rate of 10 K/min. Several TG steps were observed before the sublimation takes place between 250 and 300 °C. It can also clearly be seen that the molecular peak with mass number 132 amu (C10H12) can be detected. |

STA-QMS measurement on FEP |
| |
| A FEP sample (fluorinated ethylene-propylene copolymer) with 7.9 mg mass was investigated with a heating rate of 10 K/min in He atmosphere. During the 2-step decomposition, the monomers tetrafluor-ethylene (100 amu) and hexafluor-propylene (150 amu) were detected. |
